Local Bookshop Celebrates Book Release

Pursuit of Power launched two weeks ago and I have been so amazed at the kindness and support I have received. I almost want to laugh when I think of how afraid I was to send this book into the world. I am sure that some of this elation is just the excitement over the newness, and that my old feelings of self-doubt will creep back up in time. For now though I am on the gratitude train and this post is to celebrate Wordsmith Bookshoppe in Galesburg IL. This gem of an independent bookstore has shown such kindness since the day I walked in asking if they would be interested in stocking my book. I recall how nervous I was to even ask them to make space on their shelves for my story. I assume they could sense my nervousness and they were so gracious in their excitement and enthusiasm that I walked out with a contract and a smile. It was really my first big step with the book and I felt proud of myself! Pursuit of Power sold out in the first day at Wordsmith Bookshoppe! I am so grateful for their continued support through Facebook and recommending the book to readers who come in. I am not an overly confident person and I am sure there are going to people that I encounter who can smell that on me and they will react to it in a less than loving way - not Wordsmith though. I am grateful for their kindness and I hope they know that!
